Why a Water Piece?

Sorry for the total newbie question, but I’m curious how a water piece makes vaping better?

I used to smoke 2 packs of cigarettes a day (more than 10 years ago). Just started with anything 420 related. Took some gummies, smoked one joint, and then a friend introduced me to her DynVap. I bought a Unidyn and liked it. Then jumped to a Simrell and love it! It’s good flavor, very smooth, and no heat to really speak of.

I’ve never hit a bong of any kind. What is the advantage, especially with a DHV?

Maybe I’m just not the use case for a water piece.
