The post that never ends
Edit: First of all, I make it clear: everything I report here happened to me and my friend, and until now no one has believed it. I just know that if I tell you, it might seem crazy, but... there's no other explanation.
Lucas and I were driving along a forgotten road, one of those that not even the GPS wants to recognize. It was late at night, and the radio had nothing but static. I was tired, but Lucas insisted on continuing. “Let's just go a little further, man, I think it's not long before we get to the little town,” he said, with that slightly nervous smile he always makes when he's too excited. I just huffed and kept my eyes on the road.
What caught our attention first was a gas station in the middle of nowhere. Lights were a bit dim, as if they were burnt out, and the sign was flashing irregularly. We stopped there because… well, there was no other option. We needed gas.
When we walked in, something felt wrong. I couldn't explain it right away, but I felt a shiver run down my spine. The attendant disappeared for a few seconds, and the pumps all had different prices than those shown on the sign. Lucas noticed it too, but laughed nervously. “Maybe he’s just too old, right?” I didn't laugh.
We paid and left, but ten minutes later, we were back at the same station, in exactly the same position, but… the sign had changed color. The wooden dog at the entrance had its back to us. I looked at Lucas. He swallowed hard. “That… that’s not possible.”
And so it began.
Every time we left the station, we returned to it, but something changed. Small details at the beginning: a missing gas pump, the wooden dog looking at us, the radio now playing a song that didn't exist. Then, stranger changes: signs with words that didn't make sense, reflections in the glass showing things that weren't there.
And then they appeared.
The first was the man. He looked normal from a distance, but there was something wrong. Every time we looked again, he was closer. Until it finally crossed our path. He didn't speak, but he smiled in a way that made my stomach turn. Every time we tried to escape, he was there, never tiring, always watching us. A serial killer, I realized, but what was worse: he was also stuck in this damn loop.
Then, the black entity. She didn't appear often, but when she did, everything changed. The lights flickered, the air felt heavy, and even time seemed to slow down. I couldn't describe it properly... it was like a black hole with shape, moving with intent, but silent. Just by looking, you knew something in you would go away if she wanted it to.
We tried everything to escape. We drove, reversed, took secondary roads. But each action seemed to take us back, and each time we went through the loop, something changed in the strangest way. The gas pump was sometimes in the wrong place, sometimes there were objects that didn't belong there, and sometimes, for a few seconds, it felt like we were in several overlapping versions of the station.
In one of these passages, I noticed that the man was watching us from a different corner than before. Lucas shouted, "Run! It doesn't matter!" We tried to run, but each step seemed to return us to the same starting point. The black entity then appeared in the reflection of a cracked mirror in the store. I felt my heart almost stop. She moved as if she didn't obey the laws of space, disappearing and reappearing in impossible places.
The serial killer tried to catch us. One moment we were at the gas station, and the next moment he was facing us, smiling maniacally. I tried to scream, but my voice seemed to be lost in the heavy air. Lucas grabbed a branch and tried to distract him. That took a few precious seconds, but he disappeared, and the loop continued.
I don't know how much time has passed. Every time we left the station, we came back. Every time we tried to escape, more things changed. And the black entity, although rare, made every detour we tried seem wrong, leaving us panicking, confused, going crazy.
In the end, when we finally stopped to try to reason, I realized there was no way out. The post was not a physical place… or at least, not completely. It was a loop, a prison that made us feel increasingly powerless. And even if we ran away, something told me that the man and the black entity would continue to follow us, watching every attempt.
Lucas looked at me, pale and shaking. “I don’t think… we’ll ever get out of here.” I swallowed hard. He was right. Because as I breathed, I could feel his eyes – both the man's and the entity's void – piercing me. The looping would continue, and each time we came back, something new would be different… and more wrong.
And that's what awaits us. Every time. Forever.
Edit 2: I still don't know if we will survive. But if anyone comes across this story, know: don't go into gas stations at night on forgotten roads. Not even to fill the tank.
