AIO weird behavior from coworker.
Hello, I (21F) have a coworker (35?M) that is pretty new and I've only spoken to him a handful of times. He seems to be pretty kind. However, one time while I was in the way, he said "excuse me sweetheart" and that raised alarm bells in me because I've had poor experiences with men calling me pet names before and I really don't appreciate it. I brushed it off just because it was one time and I do live in a region where calling people "hun" and "sweetheart" is pretty common (usually only from women though).
A couple of days ago, we were talking about a show, and I told him I couldn't watch it because I don't have the streaming service the show is on. He then offered to let me use his netflix. Again, alarm bells, but I just laughed it off.
Yesterday, he was about to leave, and said he was going to get a drink and asked me if I wanted anything. Alarm bells. I don't know this man, and on the surface it just seems like he's being kind, but I am not stupid and am familiar with stories from other young women about predatory behavior from older men in the workplace.
I already let my manager and HR know, and they have been very supportive of me and expressed that its important for me to feel comfortable. But I am either kind of second guessing myself, or just need some external validation towards my reaction. I did the right thing, right? Like this is not normal behavior from a stranger.
