Can a romantic and unromantic person have a fulfilling relationship?
I (29F) have been dating a woman (36F) for about 3-4 ish months now. We have had a lot of fun together and get along great, but I have been noticing our differences as far as our desire for romance and closeness. She doesn’t text me good morning/good night every day and just daily communication in general and I’m used to that in relationships. Sometimes I’ll say things like “I miss you!” If I haven’t seen her for a couple weeks, and when I teasingly asked if she missed me at she’ll admit that she doesn’t miss me but is excited to see me again when it happens. She said to not take it personal, that she just doesn’t really “miss” people. she requested to not give big gifts this year for Christmas as she’s not really big into gift giving or recieving, and I was really excited for our first Christmas together. When I told her that, she said that she didn’t really think about it (being excited about us celebrating Christmas) even when Christmas is her favorite holiday. She also didn’t want me to pick her up from the airport when she came home from a family trip, and had her roommate do it and I was really surprised because I have always picked up lovers from airports, but I’m not sure what’s normal. She express to me that she does like me and wants to be with me she just isn’t a really romantic person and is really independent, but sometimes I worry about our compatibility. I’m a very sappy, romantic, communicative person. We have talked about this and she said that she isn’t sure she can give me anything more than she has but she will try to make an effort with texting me a more and checking in throughout the day, but being super romantic doesn’t really come naturally to her. What should I do?
