Gerri as Shiv’s Godmother

Sorry if this gets brought up frequently. The actresses are 30 years apart. It would surprise me if a 30 year old Gerri with no family connection had worked her way so high into Logan’s circle that she would be named godmother. Is there something small I missed where it explains this further?
