Canada PR - Options

I am in 3rd year of H1B with perm process just started. I have internal role in a small IT firm and get paid by the firm itself (no end client involved). With all the green card backlog and visa renewal and travel issues I have been thinking to move to Canada. Canada offered PR to 10,000 H1B holders in 2023 and I read the news that they are planning something similar again. If my current employer allows me to work from Canada as remote worker and pay me from the US, does that make a good case for PR? I do not have in depth knowledge about Canadian PR so thought to ask here and see if someone can provide some guidance.
