I stole the evidence chest from prison. Now I can't get my loot back after being arrested again

What the title says. I was arrested and stole the entire evidence chest from prison. Left it out and it disappeared after long rest

Next time I was arrested there is no new evidence chest and I can't get my loot back :-(

I'm so depressed, this is my first honor mode run and I'm near the end
