Keep current job or take on new one?

Hello!

Without going into much detail, I’ve been at my current job 8 years. It’s relatively easy, pays well ($75,000), and close to home. I’m required to work every holiday. That includes the big ones. I may have the option to work the weekend before in order to take off that holiday, but not set in stone. Benefits aren’t great, but they offer them. It’s a bigger company and I really just feel like another number. That’s ok sometimes, I’m there just to make money for my family but it would be nice to be appreciated! lol.

I have an offer to get another job. It would be 100% work from home. The boss is GREAT. It’s a smaller business with less than 10 employees. I would not have to work any holidays, and would get the entire summer off. This job would initially be more challenging. However, the catch is just would probably make 10-12 thousand less a year. No benefits so I would have to get added on to my wife’s. Also, being a smaller business, I worry about the security/longevity of the business. They’ve been operating for 5 years total.

My main reason for wanting to leave my current job is because I have a very young daughter. I would love to be able to spend all of that time with her that I could. Two weeks for Christmas, all summer, spring break. However, we have a mortgage and pay monthly into ROTH IRA’s. My spouse works, making around $50,000 a year. No car payments.

Just looking for some advice!
