My [30M] wife [30F] hates that I don't share what's bothering me.

We have been together for thirteen years and married for two. Every now and then, I get pretty bummed; part of that has to do with my bipolar disorder (for which I'm medicated), and part of it has to do with regular observation of the world.

I always tell her everything if I feel there is something she can do to help, but sometimes I just have to ruminate or push the feelings aside. Occasionally, discussing them only makes me feel trapped in the negativity for longer than if I just try to let the moment pass.

I am always abundantly clear whether or not my fouled mood has anything to do with her or something that is within her ability to change. From time to time, I just feel like shit after taking the blinders off, and telling her would only extend the length of time I feel crappy.

I have explained this to her as clearly as I'm stating it now, but she's still very upset. She has expressed to me that she feels like I don't trust her with my vulnerabilities, but the truth is that I'm not feeling particularly vulnerable, just that she wouldn't be able to help my mood.

TL;DR

Sometimes I don't want to communicate, and it's putting strain on my relationship.
