Executive resigned - leadership change
Hi đź‘‹ , looking for advice from other EAs who have gone through leadership changes.
I’ve been supporting our President for about 9 months, and just found out he’s leaving the company. When he goes, I’ll be supporting the new President, my role, title, and responsibilities will stay the same, just a change in executive. (He is leaving the country and industry, I already asked him to take me with him lol)
I’m not worried about new exec, but I am thinking ahead about compensation, performance tracking, and bonus protection.
Main question: How do I ensure my 2026 bonus fairly reflects the work, progress, and performance under my current boss before he leaves?
- Should I request a written performance summary or feedback from the outgoing President before he exits?
- How do bonuses typically work when the executive who has been evaluating you leaves mid-cycle?
- Any tips on setting expectations with the incoming President early so I don’t start from zero during review season?
Anything I may not be thinking about that others have experienced during EA transitions between executives?
Would really appreciate insights from anyone who has gone through this and managed to protect their compensation and performance history. 🙏
