Another thread about Jayden’s health.
I suck at math, so someone can check me on this, but I just ran the number and Jayden has missed or left early due to injury from 33.3% of the NFL games he’s been eligible for.
That ain’t great. If your ‘franchise’ QB can’t be on the field, you don’t actually have a franchise QB.
I think, but don’t know, that this front office is analytical enough to recognize this as a problem. Sitting on a top five draft pick and enough hype still around Jayden’s name to be able to move him for a haul of picks based on information I’m not privy to is making the worst of a troublesome situation.
Personally, I don’t think it’s something that’s going to get better. Lanky QB’s who like to run have been proven over and over again to be a liability.
I was in the game thread today, and the collective butt tightening every time Jayden gets hit is unbelievable. Having a QB not capable of completing 2 consecutive games without injury is not sustainable for any kind of actual success.
I’m prepared to be called an idiot, and I’m as heartbroken as any fan of this team, but being a good dude and having ‘aura’ just isn’t enough.
You can either look at it soberly now, or watch another season like this one next year, but it’s not going to change the fact that the worries about Jayden’s frame from the draft are being proven correct.
We need a fat body pocket passer. No addition in offensive weapons will change that fact and it absolutely sucks.
