suffocating cough

hi!! i’ve (16F) had this cold-like sickness for a couple weeks and every time i cough it’s very crunchy, however the main issue is that with every cough it feels like my airways are obstructed and it’s very difficult to breathe for >10seconds before i can breathe normally (ie. i have to physically force myself to suck very limited air in) it feels like the mucous in my throat rearranges in a way which doesn’t allow any/much air in and it’s very scary!

i’ve never had any respiratory difficulties in the past and am quite active

please help me, what should i do? should i see a doctor or is this just a cold?
