Does my coworker like or dislike me???

Ok I just KNOW yall are sick of questions like these, however I thought it might be good to post my own experience and try to figure things out because I might just be wayyyy overthinking this…

There’s this guy I work with who literally avoids me like the plague. For some context, I’m a part time cashier (F25) and he’s a team leader (M) (in his twenties - looks little younger than me) aka someone who is in charge of where the cashiers go for the day, come over when we need help with items, etc.) I’ve been working here for almost 6 months now and I have yet to truly have a legit conversation with him.

Here is why I think this guy dislikes me (for reasons unknown to me!):

• doesn’t make eye contact or initiate conversations. I see him make small talk with literally everyone else.

• there’s been a few times where when he comes over to my register to tell me im going on break, he mumbles and once again - no eye contact

• sometimes when your shift is going to end, the team leader is supposed to come over and put a CLOSED sign on the belt and say “hey turn off your light and return your till” - one time, this guy literally placed the CLOSED sign on the belt, made no eye contact or conversation with me, and left back to the board without communicating anything

• doesn’t help with bagging when it’s busy BUT HE HELPS EVERYONE ELSE AROUND ME

• one instance, couple months back, I was going up to the board to figure out which register I would need to go to for my shift, and I saw him walking down the hall and I smiled at him after making quick eye contact, and he TURNED INTO AN AISLE, and went another route to avoid the freaking board…

Every other manager/team leader is super nice and I’ve had no issues, however this thing with this guy has been soooo frustrating because I don’t know why he actively avoids me.

I understand that it’s work and I’m not asking to be BFFs with everyone lol but I am overthinking and thinking maybe I said something to him that upset him????

Then again I haven’t had a true conversation with this guy since the very first day of work (which he was assigned to to help me on the computer and showed me around the front end, etc.). Am I overthinking things!?!?
