honeymoon help! mid june

Hello! my fiancee and I (American) are getting married in Lake Maggiore in mid June. we well have 8 days off after the wedding for a honeymoon. the plan was (is?) to rent a car and drive down and stay in tuscany for a couple days then go to amalfi coast then end up in Rome and fly back to the US. a few friends have warned us this is going to be a lot of time driving and that the amalfi coast in june may be more chilly than we expect. Want this to be a special week (obviously) and was wondering if folks had suggestions? budget is roughly 9k usd. Thanks in advance
