My mew job gave me a big check and told me to get a work laptop.

Buying help

The budget is $2500 AUD, which should be plenty for a work laptop + peripherals.

The main things I'm looking for are durability/repairability, and consistent performance. I really don't wont it to lag. I'm going to be doing development and remote access stuff.

For context, I'm told there will be security configurations installed for VPN access into the company network, meaning the software side of the laptop will likely be locked down, so de-bloating windows is most likely out of the question.

I have a gaming desktop (R9 7950x, RX 6800) setup at home already, with a 4k ROG monitor as my main, and a 1080p monitor as my secondary. No need for any beefy laptop graphics, but enough power to run those monitors would be good.

Any really nice laptops you guys might recommend for this sort of use case? Also a good laptop dock would be really nice.

Thanks!
