Is tapping the ice for a pass frowned upon?

My daughter (10F) has been playing hockey for a few years but this year she decided to switch from defence to forward. She was a good defender but she’s loving being a forward and has scored 6 goals in 5 games as a forward. She is now getting a big head about it already, telling her big brother she doesn’t need to work on her shot since she’s got it down lol. Obviously she’s doing well but it’s U11 Rec league hockey. In her last game I noticed she was constantly tapping the ice with her stick to get teammates to pass to her. It seemed obnoxious to me, however I never played or even watched hockey before my kids got into it so maybe it’s normal, it just seemed like she was doing it a lot and it might be annoying to her teammates. Should I tell her to knock it off or any advice I should give her?
