Any tips for reference point and left + right side clearance?

Hey, so I own a 2017 Honda Civic and knowing that it's a really a lowered car and a bit wide I do have a hard time checking if the car fits on narrow roads and whenever there are cars on both my left and right side while driving. This is my first car and have been driving seldomly from time to time and it does feel uneasy once you're at speed so any tips please?
