Movie where kid repeats the word 'very' on an essay a ridiculous amount of times

I remember seeing this movie over a decade ago. It was probably from the 80s or 90s and all I remember is in one scene, a boy is in detention and is tasked with writing an essay meant to be a certain amount of characters, but instead of writing an actual essay, he just writes the word 'very' over and over again in a manner such as 'I'm very very very [x100] sorry'.
