Wondering if there’s any point to trying to be a self taught artist…
Im wondering if I could ever be as good as I want to be without spending money on some course or classes that may not even help. I don’t have money to be throwing around like that so it’s not an option and makes it wonder if there’s any point to trying. Every artist I find inspo takes or has taken classes or even gone to art school and it’s quite discouraging. Like damn, I can’t even try to be like them. I just don’t get it. And don’t say “oh don’t worry about improvement, just draw what you like.” … Yea no shit but I’d also like to actually be happy with what I draw. And it’s not that I don’t try. I have been to the depths of hell trying to learn anatomy and stuff but man is it impossible. And people say artists of history didn’t have resource, yea but almost all of the famous painters and stuff had teachers. Shit some even had personal tutors. Is that what it takes? I look up to Kim Jung Gi and Karl Kopinski but knowing they took classes and school, i’m just not even gonna attempt. Like as soon as I hear that I immediately discard them from my mind. Not sayingthey aren’t impressive. It’s just….it was easier for them. I’m telling you, the only way to be a good artist is to go to art school or take classes. At least from what i’ve learned so far.
Also I hate proko. Don’t suggest that godforsaken channel.
