Allow me to explain what’s going on here. There are three extremely popular fanfics in my fandom that’s a part of the “big three” for my ship. The author of one of them—and another one they were currently writing that was rising to fame—got called out for being extremely racist in that very popular fic. I never read the fic, but apparently they made very blatantly stereotypical characterizations about Asians and Hispanics. Not only that, but the people defending the author were also making disgusting remarks towards those groups of people.

HOWEVER, that author made a huge apology and most people accepted it. Not too long later, there were group chat leaks (these I actually did see) of that exact author basically saying that they didn’t mean anything of what they said, and that they wanted to say more things to “rage bait” everyone.

That didn’t bode well with anyone and they faced INSANE backlash and thus deleted all of their works and account. People who didn’t know about the allegations were extremely upset, and I even remember seeing a couple of videos on TikTok about it how upset they were that the author of these used to fanfiction randomly just disappeared.

Anyways, that brings me to this post which someone made to try and reach the author?? It’s literally almost 2k words of them saying the author doesn’t deserve any of this, and that they deserve another chance and that it’s reasonable they acted out like this because they were provoked… the whole thing is a fucking mess honestly.

My question is, while this is about fan works, it’s not a fan work in itself so I should report it, right?

…I should report this, right?
