Sync MapMyRun and Garmin?

One of the things that finally sold me on spending over $800 on the 970 was that I read you could sync MapMyRun/Fitness and Garmin Connect since I have 14 years of data on MapMyRun/Fitness and wanted to continue that… From what I’m seeing there has been a bug for numerous years that don’t allow the apps to talk to one another, anyone have a fix? So far I’ve tried:

-Deleting and reinstalling both apps -Installing and syncing MapMyFitness in addition to MapMyRun since Garmin Connect explicitly mentions Fitness (Even though it let me connect in the Run app) -De/ReSync both -Turned the watch and phone both off/on -Tried to sync them on both the apps and websites
