My dog is going blind and I am looking for advice on how to adjust.

[Misc Help]

My dog is about three years old and I found out very recently that he has developed SARDS. He went from having perfect vision to partially blind within a week and the vet predicts that he will be fully blind in about another month.

Before this, he was generally an energetic and loving dog, but now refuses to leave his crate except to eat and go to the bathroom. When anyone approaches him, he kind of freaks out (understandably). He also used to be pretty vocal, but he no longer barks, only whimpers. I am just wondering if anyone else who has had a dog go through this condition or has a younger dog become blind can give some advice with how to adjust my home or help with his behavior. It makes me very sad but there is no cure for SARDS and I just want to make his life a little easier.
