Software Engineer career in Australia

How is job market and career for software engineers in Australia? I am a US citizen, have 5+ years of experience in Software Engineering, have Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Computer Science from US. Currently the gross annual income is around $160k USD. I am looking for moving to Australia under subclass 189. What if I choose states like Perth, how is the career for Software Engineers there? If I want to settle there, is it worth it? Any advice or suggestion is appreciated.
