Overheard walking around my college campus

Student: "I don't understand why the [on-campus] newspaper bothers publishing news stories. We can just check the national news for that. They should focus mostly on publishing opinions. That's the point of college newspapers. They shouldn't have a news section, and it shouldn't be their biggest section."

I very much have a stake in this as an editor of the news section of said newspaper, but I was also just like...bestie...it's a newspaper. And no the national news isn't covering most campus-specific updates.
