can i get fired for this bopis mistake at ulta?

hi! i work at ulta and something happened today that kinda scared me, so i wanted to get some outside opinions.

i placed a bopis order for myself. while i was on the clock, my coworker (not a manager) went ahead and processed the bopis pickup for me and handed me my bag. i didn’t think anything of it because i had already paid, my receipt matched, and nothing was missing. i want to make it aware that i did NOT pick the order myself or release it to myself i just picked it up while i was on the clock (dumb of me i know)

later my managers told me this was against policy (the fact that someone other then a manager gave me my order) and said they are going to have to involve the GM and LP. they made it sound really serious, but i didn’t steal anything and the company didn’t take any loss. i paid for my order online and i picked it up thats it

i’m just really anxious now. is this something people actually get fired for? or is it usually just a coaching/warning since there was no theft or loss involved?
