19mo takes a great nap, won’t sleep at night
My 19mo was the best sleeper from birth up until July of this year. I stopped breastfeeding at that point and things are still so bad after this long! We are normally up during the week at 6:30 to get my oldest off to school, but we sleep in most weekends until at least 7. Nap time is from 12:30-2:30, and bedtime is at 8pm. I’ve tried earlier bedtimes, later bedtimes, a shorter nap, and even a longer nap. Absolutely nothing changes things! At nap time I rock her for 5-15 minutes and she goes right to sleep. At bedtime I rock her for 60-90 minutes and the entire time it’s a battle. She flip flops to different sides, messes with my ears, scratches, pinches, claps, talks, and screams the entire time. I’ve tried to just lay her down and see what happens, and she just screams the entire time. What really makes no sense at all is if my husband puts her to sleep, she goes out immediately for him. He doesn’t do anything different than I do at all. Unfortunately he works out of state 20 days a month so he isn’t here to help much. I really thought we’d be past this after almost 6 months after stopping breastfeeding. I absolutely dread bedtime every day. What can I do??
