Cat loves to “check on” her litter box all the time…Anyone else’s cat do this?

We’ve been to the vet! That’s how I know this is behavioral.

She’s pooping and peeing fine, eating and drinking fine. Went to the vet a few weeks ago and tests came back normal!

Sometimes she does this thing where she’ll go to her litter box and “dig around” but not go to the bathroom? Like, multiple times in the span of an hour. She paws at the air and the side of the box (she doesn’t ever hide her poo or pee, that’s the equivalent of her digging around and covering) I’m not sure what she’s doing! I check and don’t see anything new in there lol! And I don’t see her straining either. maybe she’s just anxious or paranoid and wants to check on her stuff and rebury it?

Some extra info: we live in a VERY small apartment and she does seem to do this when she’s bored? It’s not something she just gets up and does randomly- it’s usually when she’s been up and looking for something to do.

My theory is it’s out of boredom. She usually runs out of there with Zoomies. I also think it could be attention seeking behavior because when she scratches at the walls for suuuuper long, I do come in and tell her to stop…

Does anyone else’s cat do this?
