House Hacking

This is a question for those who use THS for house hacking/lowering housing costs. (If this doesn’t apply to you, or you simply have never had the need to house hack, your input is not welcomed.)

It’s not a secret housing costs have become insane in the US (I’m in California, so it’s even worse where I am). Anyway, THS was a great way to lower housing costs when I was really struggling to get by. I also really enjoy caring for animals so it seemed like a win win. Anyway, I’m curious what other house hacking tricks others can suggest. Sitting has its limits, and in my experience, a lot of the time pet owners have unrealistic expectations. Also, after doing it full time for a while it can lead to burnout to constantly be moving around.

So I’m curious: if you’ve used THS for house hacking, what other platforms or strategies have you used to lower housing costs?
