Did I do the right thing building around AM4?
Just wanted your feedback on my build.
I build on AM4 instead of AM5. In my region, AM4 is still a thing for because most gamers are on CPU intensive games, going for APU builds and I've been planning to build since August. I ended up building on AM4 because I got a some discount buying the components.
CPU - AMD Ryzen 7 5700X for $100
COOLER - Thermalright Assassin X 120 R Digital - $19
GPU - XFX Dual 9060 XT - $391
RAM - TeamGroup T-Force DDR4 3600 32gb (16x2) CL18 - $82
MOBO - ROG Strix B550-F WIFI II - $120
PSU - ASUS AP850G 80+ Gold - $120
SSD - Kingston NV3 1TB- $45
CASE and FANS - A31 TG with 7 fans around $90 - 100
Currently playing on a 1080P monitor but we have a 4K TV which I sometimes play on and FPS is still good if I lower the settings on native display or 1440p upscaled or Native 1440p but will upgrade my monitor to 1440P this year end. 850W PSU is a bit much for 9060 XT but my initial plan was to get the 9070 XT this year end but prices here is rising due to import taxes and I made a final decision to buy now the 9060 XT, not wait for the price increase as announced by AMD. I think my build will be fine for another 3 years minimum. enough time to jump to a newer platform.
