First time oil painter

Ive dabbled in almost every medium except oils, something intimidates me. Are there specific brands I should purchase? What should I even purchase? Do I need another set of brushes? I would really appreciate any tips in general!

Also I’m not sure if I could buy a canvas pad for this or just buy a canvas and start on a painting Any insight helps!!
