Progesterone, zinc, metformin, Kegg, TTC, and semaglutide.
Just opening a forum to see what has worked for others as far as TTC, getting into a regular cycle again, etc. Really just wanting to chat with other girlies going through the same thing.
I (28F) have had PCOS since my teenage years. I am 5’5”, 230lbs down from 247lbs. Hirsutism on upper lip, chin, cheeks, chest, back, acne on my chest, chin/jawline. Fatigue, brain fog, pelvic pain, long cycles, insulin resistance, AMH of 16, FSH of 42, LH of 15. Difficulty recovering from low-impact exercise. I also have herniated discs, asthma, easily dislocate my joints (4 sprains on both knees and have dislocated my shoulder putting on a backpack).
Only one pregnancy ever, and was uncomplicated and successful after 3+ years of trying. Only thing that changed was metformin and wegovy for 4mo and losing 20 lbs (240lb-220lb). Got my period 5mo postpartum while breastfeeding and was regular (37-40 day cycles for me) then was put on Prozac for postpartum anxiety, depression, and OCD for about 1.5-2mo, it messed up my cycle threw me off to 60+ days between each cycle so I stopped it.
Was told I may have POF but then that was ruled out.
I started progesterone mid-late August. Got my period September 1st-9th. I started compounded semaglutide September 1st with metformin (on and off, sometimes it drops my sugar too low and gives me bad headaches).
I bought kegg and used it first day after my September period and was fertile but high impedance.
Took progesterone again and got my period November 1st after missing October’s.
I am down about 17lbs. Got my period naturally yesterday, December 6th.
Things I did differently this week: -take more walks -take zinc 3x/day (daughter and husband caught a cold and I didn’t want to join them) -elderberry syrup 1x/day -vitamin c packets 2x/day
Does anyone think the zinc/elderberry/vitamin c helped me get my period back?
I will say it is just as heavy as ever. I use a flex cup and within 1 hr I am running to the bathroom to change my liner and empty it out.
We are TTC for our second and that’s partly why I have the Kegg, aside from using it as another tracker and learning my bodies patterns.
Side note: I feel I am not needing the metformin anymore as long as I eat in moderation regarding high glycemic index foods (carbs, sugary, fried, etc.). I think my insulin levels are pretty stable just on the semaglutide. I am on 1mg weekly. Anyway, let me know if you identify with any of these things or any tips or tricks that have helped you. 😊
