Is Heated Rivalry Russian propaganda?

So I recently heard about the Heated Rivalry show and thought I’d find it interesting. I decide to look it up, and I find out the love interest is Russian. Is this an attempt by Putin and his trolls to make Russia look good? To make it socially acceptable to date a Russian (who could be a spy for Putin)? Let me remind you, it’s not even socially acceptable for an NHL player to date a dark skinned woman! Also, Russians consider being gay a sin if you are the “woman” in the relationship. So here, they’d be portraying the Russian as dominant. And what if, like many Canadians, the protagonist is of Ukrainian descent? Is he betraying his people?

And people in NATO countries are watching this - why? I thought we’re boycotting Russia after they invaded Ukraine. We stopped buying their oil, we banned them from the Olympics, so why aren’t we canceling Heated Rivalry as well? For Ukraine!
