Driving license

Hey, so I’m trying to finally get my license. I’m 22, and honestly I’m tired of spending around $500 a month on Ubers just to get anywhere. I already have some driving experience friends have let me practice here and there and the longest drive I’ve done was from downtown Miami all the way to Universal in Orlando. I drove the entire way. I already know the road signs, rules, and how to handle most driving conditions, but I’m not sure what the next step is. Do I just schedule an appointment and request to take the driving test, or is there something I need to do beforehand like a written exam or do i HAVE to get a permit first and does the dmv provide a vehicle to do the exam with?
