What build is great from beginning to end 365 days of the year?

Starting a new playthrough.

I say that, what I really mean is I just picked up the game and I have come out of my 48 hours of playing to learn the controls and have them in muscle memory.

Of course being new, and not wanting to look at things up online so as not to spoil.. I was wondering if there is a build that is good throughout the entire game, something that doesn't require respec.

What I did on my getting to know you build was go equal parts Int and Cool..up until I ran into Royce, which was a pain point since I sold off a really good shotgun to square things with Vik(?).

Which left me with a pistol and a dagger, and a dream during that fight.

I digress,

TLDR: what's the funnest build you've used where you didn't have to respec, and it was fun the entire stretch?
