Away from home for 2 weeks with my 7 week old and husband and sick to my stomach with anxiety

Mental Health

My husband works away from home right now ~2 hours and was commuting every night (he works night shift too) to see us and spend about one hour or two with the baby before driving back to work and doing it all over again. For me being home with our baby that long was getting tough. I was also worried about him being extremely exhausted doing all of that driving, especially in the winter. So I suggested we come up to stay with him in an air bnb in the town he works at until he is off for Christmas break.

The place is really nice, it’s bigger and has more amenities than our apartment. I was feeling good about it until sundown hit and baby’s witching hours started and then I began noticing all the little things that weren’t right and started feeling an intense sick to my stomach homesick feeling. The place is non refundable and I‘m sure we’ll get used to it but I can’t help but feel like disrupting my routine at home has sent me back two steps and causing me to experience some serious pp anxiety and I don’t know what to do about it. I got baby down at 8 pm but have been lying awake in bed next to him feeling like I want go pack everyone up in the car and go back home.

An extra note: I am also confident my husband is also dealing with some serious post partum anxiety as well. So my anxieties just send him on his own spiral rather than him being able to comfort me. I don’t know what to do to help when I’m also feeling so overwhelmed that I’m making myself sick.

I don’t really know what the point of this rant is. I guess I just wanted to know if anyone else has experienced this and just hear that it’s going to be fine. I know I’m overreacting but I can’t help it.
