What do we all have in common here?
All of us who partake in gorlworld… I’m thinking about the things we have in common. What kinds of people are drawn to gorl world?
First things that come to mind, reflecting on myself and others I know who partake in gorlworld, are people who are cynical, self-loathing, have history of disordered eating and body image issues, fear of what we’d become without control, have experienced deep loneliness, have morbid fascination with the deep downward spirals of the gorls. People who have lot of shame, people who have some sort of unresolved trauma.
Those are the bummer traits, but I see good in us gorls, too. There’s a crusty intelligence that lives in so many of these gorlworld threads across all the different subreddits and platforms beyond Reddit. I see gorls who are analytical and observant, with strong pattern recognition. I see these strengths in myself and many of you who post and comment. I often think these parts of me would be much better used on something more.. productive? Meaningful to my own goals? But I’m not ready to let go of gorlworld yet, which I’m sure says a lot about me and where I am at.
What do you gorls see? In yourselves? In each other?
