What was a thing a beatle liked or disliked that stood out to you?

Question

I tried googling and asking Reddit if this topic had been covered before, but even still I don’t know how to ask it. I was watching people talk about Kurt Cobain after his passing, and stars came out of the woodwork to shower him with praise. Real icons too, like David Bowie and Iggy Pop talked very highly of him.

It made me curious what the Beatles liked or disliked over the course of time, whom they thought was noteworthy or cool.

I tried just to get an idea of what they may have been into or who they may have paid compliments to or didnt really dig and found nothing.

I tried the “John Lennon on…”, “McCartney on…”, “Ringo Starr on…”, and “George Harrison on…” but I’d just get searches that weren’t really relevant to what I was asking. Like, while they were all alive and massively relevant did they ever comment on other artists, musicians, directors, celebrities, or comedians?

The closest I got to some answer was John dug Bob Marley and “music from Jamaica” in an interview, George Harrison funny enough loved Monty Python so much he helped them with funding and disliked Liam Gallagher from Oasis, Paul McCartney strangely liked early Kanye West, and Ringo didnt really have a bad word to say about anybody.

Did they ever comment on, praise, or criticize anybody that stood out to you?
