Why do so many Indians hate Biharis?

Tell r/Newdelhi 🗣️

A Bihari jawan stands guard on the same border where Kashmiri stone-pelters attack our soldiers.

A Bihari labourer builds the metro in Delhi, the malls in Mumbai, the highways in Bengaluru.

A Bihari farmer feeds half the country with the rice and wheat that leaves Bihar’s fields.

Bihar gave India its first President (Rajendra Prasad), one of its greatest economists (Amartya Sen), the man who led the freedom struggle in many parts (Jayaprakash Narayan), and countless officers, professors, doctors, engineers.Yet when a Bihari speaks in his accent on a local train, people smirk.

When he works as a mason or rickshaw-puller, an entire state is reduced to “majdoor” and mocked as backward, criminal, dirty.

Now look at the other side.Every time there is a terror attack in Kashmir, a section of locals is found sheltering terrorists, giving them food, hiding their weapons.

26/11, Pulwama, Uri – local support networks were involved.

Kashmiri separatists openly call for azadi, burn the Indian flag, throw stones at the Army, force shutdowns, yet large parts of “mainland” India still say Kashmiris are our brothers and sisters”.

Article 370 is removed → protests across universities in Delhi, Kolkata, Hyderabad in solidarity with Kashmir.

A Bihari migrant is beaten in Maharashtra or Tamil Nadu → silence, or worse, jokes.

Bihar has never asked for separation.

Biharis have never pelted stones at the Indian Army.

Biharis have only asked for jobs, respect, and a chance to live with dignity in the same country they have bled for in every war since 1947.

If sheltering terrorists still earns you the tag of “misguided brothers”,

then doing back-breaking majdoori to feed your family should not earn an entire state the tag of “unwanted burden”.

This hypocrisy has to end.

Stereotyping 12 crore people because some of them are poor and do manual labour is not just unfair, it is shameful.

Bihar is not India’s shame.

The way we treat Biharis is.

Jai Hind.
