Would you say books are better than TV?

Discussion

(And by TV I mean everything related to the audiovisual medium though ill focus more on live action)
I WANT TO KNOW YOUR OPINIONS; EVERYTHING THAT FOLLOWS IS OPTIONAL TO READ AND IS JUST MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE. ill be replying to some of the comments that i can

Its been a few months since I last picked up a book, and saying that out loud even feels crude to me. Reading (as cliche as it may sound) had always been a refuge for me. Im a hyperactive person with a vivid imagination, and grabbing a book and losing myself in its words for a while was a way to pass the time. As a child, television never caught my attention. When I only had one sibling and my family could still afford cable TV I never paid any attention to it. It may sound bad, but in my mind my older brother was “dumb” for watching TV. Anyway im rambling. Books mean a lot to me and I feel like im betraying little me by not reading them anymore. On the other hand, little me owes me an apology for missing out on all of this for so many years.

I didnt start watching TV for any particular reason I simply got bored and turned it on. I watched a black-and-white film about. a man who went to war and, after everything he lived through, no longer wanted to fight he was in love with a woman who believed he was a coward. The film was very interestinf but I don’t remember its name

I don’t want to go on too long because this isnt my diary. In short, I asked a friend for their Netflix account, and from there I started watching various popular shows I had heard about: Dr. House, Breaking Bad, Stranger Things, and The Amazing World of Gumball. I kept buying some books, but what I consumed became much more varied. The series that made me truly fall in love with television was Better Call Saul.

I can’t describe the emotions that show made me feel, and it’s probably the best series I’ve ever seen. I feel a bit silly that I had to watch such an excellent show to reach such obvious conclusions, but I had never really considered the versatility television offers: storytelling, acting, cinematography, framing. music direction, and sound

To me, television is simply the superior form of entertainment

Am I just being swept up by something new? I do not want to sound like some primitive creature that stopped reading because it prefers the shiny box that makes noise. I still love books, and I’m saving up to buy the Mistborn ones because ive heard theyre very good
