First Car

I feel like this is something really insignificant compared to other posts but I suppose I just need to rant.

Why are people so miserable?

I just got my first car ever and I am in LOVE with it. I think it is beautiful and I'm so incredibly grateful that my parents were able to do this for me.

Issue is, one parent decided to post the car in a group on Facebook. A lot of the comments were positive with other people sharing their own cars and complimenting the car, and it made me feel really good. Unfortunately, the wrong side of the car community got to it and some comments were talking about the car's flaws and everything that was wrong with it (which isn't much, mind you.)

One comment in particular stuck out to me though. I can't remember what it exactly said because I was so embarrassed but I believe it was along the lines of "They (as in women) can't drive so you should've given it to your son (my brother)." A grown man said this. I fear for his wife and daughters.

The car has air suspension and I guess the people in the comments didn't like that a girl whose never had a car was in control of it.

I understand that it's just a little offhanded jab probably not meant to be taken seriously but it just hit hard. I am in love with this car but it's hard to feel happy about it when everybody has to be so horrid.

I'll get over it obviously it's not that big of a deal but I'm starting to get sick of stereotypes and EVERYONE finding a reason to be salty about every little thing.
