Successful Hospitalists who matched GI can you advise?

1.) Research: Obviously will continue to work on more impactful stuff.

2.) Relationships. This is the toughest. I don’t have a way to do GI work under supervision of others like a non-ACGME. I applied to some GI hospitalist programs and Non-ACGME places.

  1. Who are the best people to ask for letters? Did you still ask your former program directors/GI faculty? I don’t want to annoy them.

4.) Different Hospitalist Job? My current place is a top academic center and my former program doesn’t have openings so I don’t have an internal shot. I have seen people saying to go to a place with in-house and see most people matched in house this year so maybe just go somewhere else and make a good impression to in hopes of landing a spot in house?
