Why Is Lower Belly Fat So Stubborn Even After Major Weight Loss. NEED ADVICE
Im 18M, started in early June and have been doing only cardio since then cycling, running, walking daily. I stayed in around a 500-600 calorie deficit on average. I started at 88 kg in July and now I am at 74 kg so around 14 kg down. The issue is there is barely any change in my lower belly. When I look in the mirror and compare before and after, there is a clear visible difference between chest and navel and also on my back, but the lower belly looks almost the same.
My waist went from 41.5 inches to 38 inches. (pic in comments)
I am trying to stay consistent but obviously as humans we want to see results, and not seeing change in this one area is honestly demotivating me now.
I did not go to a gym because I do not have access right now. I will be shifting to a new place in a couple of months and then I plan to join a gym. For now I have been doing pushups, situps, crunches and basic bodyweight exercises.
When I started I could not even do a single pushup. it took me like 12 days. Now I can do around 20 to 25 in one set.
I also want to do pullups and chinups but I did not have a bar before. Whenever I used to go to the track I tried on the bar present there but I could only do dead hangs because I was not consistent cuz the park where the track is , is quite far from my home and my muscles are really weak since I never trained them properly for strength exercise's. I recently ordered a pullup bar and it will be installed by today. If I stay consistent how long would it realistically take me to hit my first chinup.
Some background. I was not too chubby or too skinny till age 12. Around 13 I started playing tennis and squash and used to play around 2 hours daily for 2 to 3 years. I was also a decent swimmer and used to swim at night after sports. During that time I lost a lot of fat but even then my belly was never fully flat. I still remember my belly always being at least an inch more than my chest in the mirror.
Three years ago I moved to a new place with no courts or activities nearby. Started playing cricket with friends but the intensity was low because honestly they were bad at it. After my matric papers I completely gave up and started bed rotting. Within 9 months I hit 88 kg without even realizing it. I was literally 70 kg not long before that. After my first year papers I finally started this weight loss journey.
More context. Both my parents and grandparents on both sides are obese. My mom and dad both have BMI around 40. My dad was just like me when he was young, super athletic, played multiple sports, was a runner and very slim. After job life he quit everything and became obese too.
So I want real advice. How do I actually lose this lower belly fat. I am still losing weight and my goal is around 60 kg and then I plan to start proper muscle building. Right now I am stressed because of the typical desi uncle style belly that I still have and it is genuinely messing with my confidence. I only wear oversized shirts and hoodies. I want to wear fitted shirts and chinos tucked in but this belly holds me back. I am usually a confident person but this one thing makes me insecure.
Diet context. I eat 2 boiled egg whites and 1 shami kebab cooked with low oil. Mostly just drink water after that. If I had breakfast early like 6-7 am and I get really hungry later during lunch time then I sometimes eat 1 small chapati with salan if it is less oily or another kebab and if im not hungry i just skip lunch then. At night usually after maghrib (around 6pm nowadays) I eat around 300g chicken breast cubes with some light sabzi like carrots or cabbage. So my diet has mostly been protein focused with controlled carbs.
Any genuine advice would be appreciated, especially from people who have dealt with stubborn lower belly fat.
