EWOS potential earnings with diploma

Discussion

Since the recruiters won't be so transparent with the figures, I went to do some calculations based on my research:

1 NSF year = 2.5 regular years, so 2 months BMT will count as 5 months, reducing the bond to 4 years 7 months;

Average rank progression & salary: SCT (6 months - 3210), 3SG (1 year - 3410), 2SG (1 year - 3480), 1SG (2 years - 3500);

Up to 10 months of Premium Bonus (PrB) at 3rd year of service;

Total =

35k (sign on bonus)

+ 3210 x 6

+ 3410 x 12

+ 3480 x 12

+ 3480 x 5 (Average PrB bonus of 5 months)

+ 3500 x 24

+ 3410 + 3480 + 3500 x 2 (13-month bonus)

= 252230 which divided by 4 years 7 months gives ~4.5k/month

The more important figure is the hourly salary, since there is no such thing as OT pay in the army. I know this will be very subjective, but let's say a 70 hour workweek on average, that gives an hourly salary of 4500/(30/7x70) = 15/h
