My housing situation is ruining me

I'm a 31F, finishing up my PhD but also moved back to my home state last year to start a full-time job in my career field. A few months into starting my job, three of my coworkers (all 20-something F) asked if I wanted to go in on a shared house for the next year. I was basically couch surfing with family members up until that point, so I was cool with the idea of moving in with them. Our lease started last June, and at first everything was overall fine. One of my roommates has a small dog and a cat, and the dog would get very anxious when my roommate left the house and bark a bit, but I learned to deal with it. I live in the upstairs with the roommate with the pets, while the other two roommates live downstairs. So sometimes when I'm trying to go downstairs at night to get ready for bed, my roommate's dog (who is sleeping in her room) will bark. My roommate goes to bed earlier than me, so it does wake her up, but I see that more of an issue with her dog waking her up, since I'm paying an equal share of the rent and am allowed to go up and down the stairs of my own house. My other two roommates who live downstairs don't have this problem, since they don't have to worry about coming into the upstairs space where the dog lives. So that's another small thing, but again I've been actively coping with that and have been trying not to feel too guilty. Also, previously my roommate had the dog on an anti-anxiety medication but was trying to not give the dog the medication over the past month. This led to the dog's anxiety skyrocketing, so when my roommate left the house for work the dog would almost immediately start trembling and crying/barking all day. So working from home became impossible. Also, my bedroom is right by where my roommate houses the dog for the day, so once my roommate left for work (she leaves at 7:30am) the dog would wake me up in the morning because of his barking. I was hoping the dog would adjust, but because things haven't gotten better I did tell my roommate about the dog's anxiety a few days ago and she did feel bad, and said she said she's putting the dog back on the anxiety medication. So hopefully that will minimize the barking/crying during the day. And I truly want the dog to be calm since he's clearly terrified when she's gone.

So now on to the cat. When we first moved in, the cat was very skittish and would run away if you got too close. Over time the cat began to get more comfortable and trust me and my other roommates. I'm a big cat person, so I was very patient, and made a point to give the cat pets and play with him (cat toys, laser pointer, ect.). So over the last few months the cat has grown to like me a lot. Basically to the point of obsession. Now every time I go downstairs the cat yowls at me to play with him and runs around following me. He also has figured out that I live in the room upstairs, so he now comes upstairs and yowls at me at midnight, 1am, 2am to play with him. I try to ignore it, but he will keep coming up the stairs and meowing until I go downstairs and use the laser pointer to play with him. So I try to avoid opening the door when he's at it meowing because I don't want to encourage the behavior, but once I do play with him he does seem to be placated at least for a while. It truly feels like I'm trying to go through a toddler's bedtime routine. It's like "ok we're gonna play and have pets and then I'm gonna go upstairs and how you don't come up here in 20 minutes meowing at the top of your lungs repeatedly for the next hour. And if you do, I'm gonna have to go downstairs and repeat the process over again until I can finally fall asleep." God forbid I have to go downstairs to use the bathroom or grab anything before bed, because the whole process starts over.

So basically between the dog barking in the morning and the cat meowing at my door at night, I'm a zombie and a shell of a human. Nighttime has become so stressful because I don't know when I'm going to fall asleep, and I don't know when I'll be woken up in the morning (but likely it will be 7:30am when my roommate leaves and her dog starts barking). I should be up that early anyways for work, but I literally am trying to get any sleep I can because I feel so sleep deprived. I'm supposed to be finishing my PhD but it's been so hard to get things done because I'm sleep deprived and on edge. I can't relax in my own house. I've lived with so many roommates and with so many different dogs and cats over my lifetime, and I have never experienced this level of anxiety or persistence in a cat or dog. I've been focusing on not regretting my choice to move in, because I truly didn't think this was going to happen, based on my previous experiences with other roommates and pets, which have all been largely positive. I feel like a prisoner in my own home and I can't wait to get my own place in May when the lease is up. I just keep trying to focus on that, but May feels like a long way away right now, especially when I'm also supposed to be graduated by then. It's such a critical time for me and I just can't deal with this added layer of stress.
