Switched to auto feeder but still give wet food, cats begging for food all the time

Hi all,

We adopted 2 kittens almost 3 months ago and they are about to turn 9 months old. We started with a mix of wet and dry food, 1/2 pouch each twice a day, and were free feeding kibbles but I realised our female spayed kittens were getting a bit chunky so decided to switch to a dry food auto feeder because they could still have frequent meals while controlling a bit more their portions. They have now 50g each divided into 5 portions throughout the day and night, with still 1/2 pouch each every morning and every evening. Since we switched they look more food obsessed and look for food everywhere (even caught once of them licking the sponge with a bit of food on 🤦🏻‍♀️). Did this happen to everyone? Are we underfeeding our cats ?

I looked online and it’s the equivalent of 42g of wet food a day and 50g (sometimes 60g because I cave in and give them another portion ahah) . Would love your feedback !
