Can I change my Iphone’s app store region without screwing up my phone?

Hi all, I used to live in the US but now live abroad, my Iphone is from the US so its region is set to there. My job needs me to download an app that contains things like ID’s and security cards, but it’s only available on the app store in the region that I live in, not in the US region.

The obvious solution is to just change my phone’s region, but I’m scared doing that might screw things up. For instance, my app store account was made in the US, and linked in a family account to my parents in the US. My apple music is the same way.

Anybody know what the consequences of changing the region would be? Am I worrying over nothing?
