My best friend doesn't like wearing glasses, how do I convince them to wear them?
Hello Reddit, I just wanted to ask you all how to deal with a problem.
My best friend recently bought a pair of glasses as their eyesight has degraded to the point where they can't really see road signs when driving and they have trouble reading signs at fast food joints. Despite buying them a couple of months ago, they rarely wear them. When asked why, they said that they can't deal with the sensory feeling of them sitting on their face or how they look wearing them. I argued with them for a bit, saying that their eyesight will degrade if they don't wear them and that they will get used to wearing them, but they insisted that they cannot stand the feeling and can only wear them for short periods of time. I'm also concerned because they drive at night a lot and I'm worried about them doing so with poor vision.
I don't wear glasses and my friends who do were already comfortable with theirs from the get-go so they didn't really have advice on how to convince them to wear them. So I suppose the question is: how do I convince my friend to wear glasses?
Any monetary solution like 'buy contacts' will not work as we're both students and don't have that sort of money for big expenses.
Thank you in advance!
