We lost another one

My old gym had a refurb so I went last night to check it out and see if it was worth returning. What an abomination.

They’ve knocked through the men’s and women’s changing rooms to make one giant communal room, but filled it with about 60 individual cubicles. All the benches have been ripped out, and there’s signs saying that there is to be absolutely no changing outside of the cubicles. They’ve packed them all so closely that there is only a small, maze-like path that circles round like a corridor between the cubicles, and the shower room has gone entirely, replaced with 6 individual stalls, hidden behind a screen should you dare to step out without a towel (and more signs warning you not to do so).

Even taking away the communal aspect, it just feels so unwelcoming. Blue plastic looking doors everywhere, dark lighting, a windy corridor between the stalls. It’s dark and drab and depressing.
