The Shadow of the Morning
Singing softly, my silence caresses my regret,
Stilling these trembling lips, I sway on the precipice,
Spider threads snapping one by one,
Lift me to mysterious heights and drop me like a stone,
A puppet on strings of hope and desperation,
Frantically searching for meaning, one final respite,
Deeper, darker, and more broken, I emerge,
Silent and still in the shadow of regret's visage,
Dark sunrise, sink into my soul,
Give to me one last reprieve,
Give me the strength for sweet surrender,
To see a life's dream reborn,
Deep within the dust of ashes long forgotten,
Deep within the shadow of the morning.
