My PM doctor is retiring

Hello everyone! For a few months now I have been trying to find a new pain management doctor because my doctor is retiring at the end of this month. I've been searching I've tried multiple referrals and every doctor that I have tried has denied me. So I'm on a force taper right now and I'm scared because the condition that I have is not going to get better I'm facing major hip surgery next after I just have both my knees done. I have Osteoarthritis and Rheumatoid Arthritis. But the osteoarthritis is in every major joint of my body at age 45. I have went to my PCP and she is a nurse and told me she can't prescribe me opiods. I have literally tried every doc in town to no avail. I'm in South Bend Indiana. I'm scared out of my mind. I have been compliant and passed all drug tests, I have followed my prescription to a tee. My PM doc says that I need a higher dose of my medication because I'm in such bad shape. My pain is so high it's ridiculous but when I'm on my medication I'm able to get a few things done a day better than laying in bed crying all day. I don't think it's fair and I don't know what my next step is. I really wish that I had an advocate that could help me maneuver this but I'm not on Medicare I'm on Medicaid. I've caught my insurance agency and they gave me a couple names of different doctors that I would have to travel a little bit too I tried them and they even denied seeing me I don't know why? I think they're only seeing my age. They're not really looking at the condition as a whole they're just seeing arthritis maybe but they're not seeing how bad I have it? So I asked my pain doctor to please do a referral. And even that got denied so now I'm going to have to force taper down to an even lower dose I don't know what to do I'm scared and I don't think a fear to get put on methadone when I am truly disabled and I shouldn't have to live like this
